Jeff Mazzola

A local photographer who focuses on sports, wildlife and candid photography. His love of art was inspired by his parents and both of his grandfathers … one who painted and the other who was a photographer. Jeff loved to draw throughout his childhood and school. Some say he missed his calling and probably should’ve pursued art in college. Photoshop makes photography even more enjoyable and this photographer isn’t above using this tool to “have a little fun” sometimes with his work.

Sports photography is Jeff’s passion. He got serious about photography when he realized he needed a “pacifier” to keep his mouth shut while attending his sons’ games. Jeff can often be found at sporting events year ‘round in his hometown of Pitman, New Jersey.

Jeff’s aunt is an accomplished artist whose watercolor paintings have steered him towards wildlife photography. Bald eagles are a favorite subject.

Jeff also documents many town events and shares them with Pitmanites through The Pitman Today … an online news publication that he promised he would keep going just before the founder and friend passed away.

Jeff prefers candid photography of people over posing subjects. “There’s something real about catching a person or people during an unscripted moment.”
