Join us Friday, June 7th 2019 for the Opening Reception of "Mystical & Metal Creations" Featuring the Works of Leigh Meinhart & John Damiani. On View Through June 29, 2019.
Leigh Meinhart
Leigh Meinhart is a painter apprenticed by Odd Nerdrum in the summer of 2012. She also posed for his painting "The Alien" while there. She received a BFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) with a major in painting and minor in sculpture in the spring of 2012, after transferring from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Inspired by Odd Nerdrum and Brian Froud, she uses the Apelle's palette and is a follower of the Kitsch Movement. Leigh also has an interest in fantasy and visionary art.
John Damiani
John has always gravitated towards working with steel. Unfortunately providing for his family came first and his passion for steel art came second. Being a blue-collar worker has enhanced his view of the arts and helped his creativity grow. He began his artistic journey making industrial style tables, lamps, light fixtures, stools, and other household furniture during his spare time. Shortly after, his passion switched to artistic sculptures. When creating sculptures, he often reflects upon what is going on in not only his own life, but also the world around him. From making sculptures that represent social injustices or making something for a friend in need of a smile, he is a truly philanthropic man and enjoys using his art to help others in need. John has donated pieces of his art collection to various individuals to auction off for causes he feels passionately about. He hopes to be able to reach as many people as possible with his art, all the while making a positive difference in the world.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
