Ed Kent

Originally from Buffalo, New York, Ed Kent lives in southern New Jersey and his studio is currently in his home. Ed’s primary interest is multi-dimensional art, particularly in geometric, assemblage and object art. His work has been exhibited in the NJ, Philadelphia, and NYC areas.

Rather than concentrate on a specific medium and genre, Ed attempts to jump around. It’s a flow of interest and one idea or concept always inspires another. He considers each piece as a visual experiment creating curiosity and interest. The aesthetic is primarily the shape, color, texture and arrangement – often nothing more than that.

Ed is primarily self-taught and has attended the Fleisher Art Memorial and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, both in Philadelphia. He has a BSEE from the SUNY at Buffalo and a MSEE from the University of Tennessee and over 30 years experience in the aerospace industry. Most important of all, Ed considers his four years of high school at Hutchinson Central Technical in Buffalo to be the most important of all.

This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
